It presents work on key elements in modern Persian novels, focusing on the works of prominent contemporary Iranian writer Shahriyār Mandanipūr, and a future project on adopting The Notes of Sadriddin Ayni to integrate the voices of classical 20th century Central Asian authors into contemporary Persian language learning. It then makes the link to pedagogy of Persian language and topics, teaching about the Middle East for the General Education program and developing a curriculum for undergraduate Persian.
