CSEES awards new curriculum development grant to NELC Professor

The Center for Slavic and East European Studies announced that it has awarded Professor Morgan Liu a curriculum development grant for the 2019-20 academic year. Professor Morgan Liu, Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, will create a new course in summer 2020 entitled “Oligarchs, Penthouses, and Yachts: The Global Lives & Dealings of Superrich Eurasians” that will also be open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Through this course, students will learn about social theories of elites, class, consumption, cosmopolitanism, and transnationalism from anthropology, geography, and sociology perspectives.
