The NELC Department is proud to announce that on Thursday, June 6, Rasmyah Alaybani defended her dissertation and will graduate with her PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at the Summer 2019 Commencement on Sunday, August 4.

Rasmyah's dissertation title is, "Words and Images: Women’s Artistic Representations in Novels and Fine Art in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". She was supported by her research and writing by her advisor, Dr. Johanna Sellman, and her committee members, Dr. Sabra Webber, Dr. Jessica Prinz, and Dr. Qussay Al-Attabi
