Ben Gatling (Margaret Mills, advisor) defended his "Post-Soviet Sufism: Texts and the Performance of Tradition in Tajikistan" in Summer semester 2012 and has taken a position as a Lecturing Fellow at Duke University's Thompson Writing Program.

The Department admitted the first student to its Ph.D. program in the Autumn of 2007 and will enroll a total of 18 PhD and 6 MA students for Autumn 2013. Visit the PhD program information page for more information.
