Jonathan Karp, <>
Presented by the Melton Center for Jewish StudiesJewish economic history is vital to understanding Jewish survival, the structure of Jewish communities, and Jews’ complex relations with non-Jews over time. Economic history is rarely discussed by historians of the Jews, however, for fear that it will give ammunition to anti-Semitic theorists who depict Jews in conspiratorial and exploitative terms. This presentation will highlight some of the ways in which economic history illuminates Jewish history as a whole. This program is free and open to the public. Contact the Melton Center for more information.
