Humanities Scholars Lecture Series: More than Bollywood: South Asia Cultures and People
Assistant Professor Ila Nagar's talk will familiarize students with India and the Hindi film industry which is also called Bollywood. We will discover how film in India has served a role in the project of nation building since the independence of India from the British in 1947. Students will be able to learn how Bollywood is not just about film but is a statement on the history, politics, and culture in India and South Asia.
