The Global Mediterranean Working Group: Screening of Gianfranco Rosi’s Fuocoammare (Fire at Sea)
The Global Mediterranean Working Group invites you to attend our screening of Gianfranco Rosi’s Fuocoammare (Fire at Sea, 2016), a documentary about migration in the Mediterranean, and on the impact of the European Migrant crisis, set on the Italian island of Lampedusa. The film will be preceded by a short introduction from Professor Dana Renga, Department of French and Italian Chair and Associate Professor of Italian. Please join us for an evening of thought provoking cinema in the company of a considerate audience that seeks to better understand the multiplicities of Mediterranean identity and how this affects the contemporary world. Refreshments, including pizza, will also be provided. All welcome (and please RSVP by Wednesday at 4:00pm to Lora Jura jury.20@buckeyemail.osu.edu to ensure enough pizza is ordered!
