Connor Rouillier a Ph.D. student in the Department of Linguistics and NELC has been awarded the well-known Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center Summer Arabic Language and Media (SALAM) program fully-funded intensive Arabic language scholarship.  

SALAM will be held at the Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-native Speakers in Manah, Oman in summer 2022. This scholarship is awarded to 24 to 30 students each year. Connor will be part of a single cohort that will travel to Oman in May 2022. This program lasts six weeks and aims to improve students' Arabic skills while familiarizing them with Omani history and culture.
