Hebrew 5602 The Bible as Literature: Selected Readings

The course explores various genres of biblical literature: myth, epic, law, prophecy, poetry, and wisdom literature. Selections from different parts of the Hebrew Scriptures are studied with an emphasis on their literary, grammatical, syntactical, historical and theological content. Attention is given to both rabbinic textual exegeses and modern philological and critical approaches. Taught in Hebrew.
