The Ohio State University is fortunate to be a hub for Turkish and Central Asia Studies with faculty in several departments with expertise in this region of the world too often ignored by the public.
This event will include:
- Ottoman Turkish Music Demonstration by Hans Utter and Hakan Kaya
- Sampling of Turkish and Central Asian food
- Remarks by Professor Morgan Liu (Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures) and Professor Scott
Levi (Department of History) on the value of learning about Turkey and Central Asia in the 21st Century
- Information about newly approved Turkish and Central Asia Undergraduate Minor
- Preview of several courses offered in the new undergraduate minor
